Washington DC: The Federal Government this week announced sweeping changes to how the IRS will collect taxes and how corporations will receive free subsidies of taxpayer dollars.
The IRS has unveiled a program whereby Americans can have a “Direct Payment Plan” to pay corporations the subsidies that our elected officials have promised them rather than paying the IRS first.
McKinsey Consulting in New York was hired to conduct a 2-year study for $24.3 million and their findings highlighted one massive inefficiency: the IRS itself. Currently the IRS collects taxes from millions of Americans and then our elected leaders decide for themselves which companies should receive free tax-payer dollars for nothing in the form of subsidies.
McKinsey & Co. brilliantly determined that it would be far more efficient for the IRS to send each American taxpayer a letter telling them NOT to send their tax check to the IRS; instead, each taxpayer will receive a list naming up to 47 corporations and the amount of taxpayer subsidy you must pay them out of your own pocket as your share of their free subsidy that was promised by our elected officials.
For example, as a test case, the IRS sent Karen Trussul, of Louisville, Kentucky a letter telling her to write checks for the $2,324 she owed in taxes for 2010 to the following companies:
- Exxon Mobil: $95
- Monsanto: $89
- General Electric: $62
- Archer Daniels Midlands: $83
- Lockheed Martin: $143
- Dupont: $139
- & 27 other checks to corporations
The last item on her list was a check request for the IRS for $156 which is the portion of Ms. Trussul’s taxes which actually go to paying for government costs to pay employees. The rest is all paid out to private corporations as free cash subsidies.
Ms. Trussul told One Nation Under Mom that she didn’t understand why she has to pay these corporations her hard earned wages in exchange for nothing. Nor did she have any choice which American companies she could personally subsidize: “My elected leaders tells me exactly which corporations I have to write my checks to. I didn’t have any say. Our elected officials choose to give corporations free tax payer handouts and I just don’t like it.”
The IRS, however, is thrilled with the new system. “We no longer have to receive, process, and cash 300 million+ checks every year. Do you know how much easier that will be? I have already fired 75% of my staff,” says Warren Trells, who runs one of the national mail centers for the IRS.
Some CEO’s are concerned: Jeff Immelt, the CEO at General Electric, told One Nation Under Mom, “GE is heavily reliant on the free taxpayer dollars we receive in order to be a competitive company in the global marketplace. I am worried that the new system will mean that we won’t get all of those free dollars from Americans which Congress promised us.”
To make the process even more efficient therefore, McKinsey & Co. strongly suggested also that the IRS give the corporations the power to garner wages of Americans who don’t pay the corporations their due free tax-payer subsidy. This would have been done by the IRS for failure to pay but now, the corporation can do that too. Because of this expanded power over American citizens to force them to pay for free subsidies, corporations are beefing up their debt-collection teams who already hound Americans who fallen behind on credit payments. Now the company will have the power to go into the bank accounts of Americans who don’t pay and get the free money that politicians have promised the corporation.
Since members of Congress promise corporations hundreds of billions of dollars in free subsidies of taxpayer dollars each year, this new system would save the government time, manpower, and tremendous resources to have Americans simply write the subsidy checks directly to the promised corporation, cutting out the middle man of the US Goverment.
Thankfully, both Democrats and Republicans in Congress have gone on TV to explain to Americans that sending our corporations your hard earned dollars for nothing is part of our national duty and define what it means to be a patriot. Anyone who refuses to pay tax subsidies to corporations based on the promises made by your elected officials will be deemed criminal enemies of the state. This has encouraged a massive surge in support for the program nationwide. Jenny Carlson of Nevada emailed saying “I am so thrilled to send Dow Chemical my tax dollars. I only wish the IRS had put Chevron on my list but I know that my neighbor Susan got the chance to give them her dollars for free so I am relieved. Since I hate the environment, I was relieved that none of those ‘tree hugger’ companies like Whole Foods was on my list.”
Not everyone is sold, however. Jason Kinsler told One Nation Under Mom, “Politicians abuse taxpayers by giving huge free sums to US and Foreign Corporations for free. Americans don’t have a clue how their tax dollars are being given away, not spent. Now Americans will see exactly to whom they are giving free dollars to each year. This exposes the illegal corruption and anti-free-market behavior of all of our complicit elected officials.” He runs the organization “Stop Corporate Subsidies” which educates Americans about which elected officials are forcing Americans to give away their dollars to which corporations in exchange for nothing. “Taxpayers should not have to give away their hard earned dollars in exchange for zero in return. It’s time for the Congressional system of giving our money away to corporations to end.”
But his is a lone voice in a sea of cheers for the new policy. “It is so transparent now,” says Gail Stevens of Grand Rapids, MI. “I now know exactly which company is getting my money for free. I just love it!” Barbara Wilson, of Bangor, Maine, told One Nation Under Mom, “I know these companies will use the free money I gave them wisely to increase executive compensation, fire more blue-collar workers, and avoid paying as much tax as possible. This new system is amazing!”
Starting in April, 2012, Americans nationwide will be required to pay their 2011 taxes based on the new system. While everyone understands that it might be a bumpy transition, McKinsey & Co is confident that corporations will get every free penny of subsidy that was promised to them by US elected officials, one way or the other. The system should cut down on government costs to run the IRS even if it means that Americans have to do a little more work to send out 20-30 checks to pay their taxes vs only 1 check sent to the IRS now. But that is a small price to pay to make the system better for everyone, right?

***Disclaimer: While this article is FICTIONAL & Satirical, it is based on factual research about the amount of tax payer dollars that our elected officials give to corporations for free. Subsidies create the opposite of a ‘free market’ and give certain companies unfair advantages over other companies. Currently we are allowing our elected officials to give away our tax dollars to corn producers using pesticides and other unsafe products which then go into our food supply. If elected officials are truly concerned about balancing our nation’s budget, then let’s begin by eliminating the practice of giving away tax payer’s hard earned dollars for nothing.

I can not find anything on the IRS website to back up this article. could you point me in the right direction? i am a tax preparer w/liberty tax & we ALL can not find the truth to this article, please help me.
Hello Trish,
If you read the bottom of the article, I clearly state that the article is fictional but based on researched facts about the absurdity of how our elected officials force American citizens to give away their dollars to companies they did not choose. You are definitely correct that this is not contained on the IRS website. I write satire with the intent of raising questions about key issues, in this case, Congressional gift to businesses that include free-handouts of taxpayer dollar. If Americans had to send the checks directly to the corporations they are subsidizing, Americans would be up in arms!
